NEW YORK, Oct. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SIRIUS XM Radio (Nasdaq: SIRI) announced today that it will broadcast extensive live coverage of election night 2008 with diverse programming across 14 channels from November 3rd through November 5th.

For XM subscribers, Oprah & Friends will broadcast live special programming and perspectives from the channel's wide variety of hosts and experts, as well as reports from the Obama and McCain headquarters. Gayle King will broadcast live in New York on Election Day and in Chicago the morning after, and Dr. Maya Angelou will interview renowned journalists and 2008 presidential and vice-presidential debate moderators Tom Brokaw and Gwen Ifill. On Election Day, XM's POTUS '08 will broadcast live reports from the site of Senator Obama's rally in Chicago and from Senator McCain's rally in Phoenix. Joe Madison will broadcast live from Grant Park in Chicago on XM's The Power. Jamie Foxx will cover the election from all sides on SIRIUS' The Foxxhole. SIRIUS Patriot's Andrew Wilkow, SIRIUS Left's Mark Thompson and Indie Talk's Ron Silver will deliver coverage from the left, right and center. SIRIUS OutQ will offer perspective for the LGBT community, and SIRIUS' The Catholic Channel will provide breaking election news with analysis and perspective from the Catholic voter. SIRIUS XM Radio will also provide live streaming coverage from the major cable news networks including CNN, CNN En Espanol and FOX NEWS, and National Public Radio (NPR).

OPRAH & FRIENDS - XM channel 156 and SIRIUS channel 195
Oprah & Friends will have wall-to-wall coverage on this historic Election Day with regular news updates, live reports from Grant Park in Chicago and McCain headquarters in Phoenix, and special programming and perspective from the channel's wide variety of hosts and experts.
Gayle King will broadcast live beginning at 8 am ET November 4th, taking the temperature of voters as polls open across the country. At 8 am ET November 5th, King will deliver the latest election results and share her personal thoughts on the election.
On November 4th at 10 am ET and 7 PM ET Dr. Maya Angelou will interview renowned journalists and 2008 presidential and vice-presidential debate moderators Tom Brokaw and Gwen Ifill to get their thoughts on this history-making campaign. Dr. Angelou will also reflect on the hard fought battles by minorities and women to gain this right. Jean Chatzky will address the ramifications the election has on the economy with two live broadcasts November 4th at 11 am ET and 6 pm ET, and November 5th at 11 am ET. November 4th at 7 am ET Dr. Oz will host "Presidential Voices," a special presidential retrospective edition of his show. Other hosts participating in special election coverage include Rabbi Shmuley, Dr. Robin Smith, and Holly and Rodney Peete. Foxx and his Foxxhole crew will cover the election from all sides - from the humorous to the serious - with live coverage beginning at 4 pm PT on Election Day and continuing into the night.
THE POWER - XM channel 169
Joe Madison "The Black Eagle" will broadcast live from Grant Park in Chicago beginning at 7 pm ET on election night. Joe will bring listeners a complete play-by-play from the Obama camp as election night unfolds with special interviews and conversations with the voters. On November 5th, Joe will broadcast live with post-election coverage from the Oprah XM Radio studios in Chicago.
SIRIUS LEFT - SIRIUS channel 146
SIRIUS Left will provide continuous election coverage all day on November 4th. Beginning at 8 pm ET, Mark Thompson will host an election night roundtable with Theola Labbe from The Washington Post, Brian Debose from The Washington Times and journalist/activist Rick Rosendall. Other guests will include political scientist Dr. Ronald Walters and SIRIUS Left hosts Alex Bennett and Thom Hartmann. Coverage continues November 5th with hosts Bill Press, Alex Bennett, Thom Hartmann and Lynn Samuels.
SIRIUS PATRIOT - SIRIUS channel 144
SIRIUS Patriot will provide continuous live coverage on Election Day with hosts including Bill Bennett, Mike Church, Andrew Wilkow, Sean Hannity, and Mark Levin. Indie Talk will provide continuous coverage on Election Day with opinions and polling experiences from the much coveted Independent voter. Beginning at 8 pm ET, Indie Talk's roundtable coverage will start with Vinnie Politan, Ron Silver, Pete Dominick and John Devore looking at numbers and talking about the outcomes with guests and newsmakers. Beginning on November 3rd, SIRIUS' The Catholic Channel will provide comprehensive coverage of the 2008 Election with overviews of key congressional races across the country as well as the presidential race.
