Jeter, a nine-time All-Star and four-time World Series champion, joined the Yankees in 1995 at the age of 20 and has batted .300 or above in 10 of his 15 seasons in the major leagues. He was named the 11th captain in Yankees franchise history in 2003. Jeter has won the American League Rookie of the Year Award (1996), three Silver Slugger Awards (2006-2008), and three Gold Glove Awards (2004-2006).
