Williams, a New Jersey native, will share personal stories about growing up as a "shore kid," discuss what it was like seeing Bruce Springsteen perform in the early days at the Stone Pony on the Jersey Shore and play some of his all time favorite Springsteen songs.
SIRIUS XM listeners will hear Williams hand-pick a playlist of songs from Springsteen's albums and performances, including songs from the dozens of concerts he attended.
"It was a very personal and intense experience to host this show, and I think that comes through on the air," said Brian Williams. "As a native of the Jersey Shore (Exit 114), I first saw Bruce in 1975. While my seats have gotten better over the years, the music never changed. It's the soundtrack of my life – it's as great today as it was back in the day."
"We are honored and thrilled to have one of TV's most popular and respected newscasters join our on-air family as a guest DJ on SIRIUS XM's E Street Radio," said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, SIRIUS XM Radio. "His show is a unique tribute to the influence of an artist and his music, featuring personal stories about Bruce Springsteen's music and songs and their effect on him as an individual."
The special guest DJ session will air on Friday, June 11 at 4:00 pm ET and will be rebroadcast on Saturday, June 12 at 12:00 am and 8:00 am ET.
