SiriusXM to Present Special Midterm Election Night Coverage

SiriusXM Urban View to broadcast special Election Night programming

NEW YORK – November 7, 2022 – Today SiriusXM announced that it will broadcast special Midterm Election Night programming across a diverse array of channels on November 8. The live coverage will include in-depth political analysis, up-to-the-minute election results, and opportunities for listeners to call in and share their reactions and opinions.

Listeners can tune in for non-stop coverage throughout the day and night on SiriusXM Patriot (ch. 125), P.O.T.U.S. (ch. 124), and Progress (ch. 127) channels, along with special late night programming on Triumph (ch. 111) and Urban View (ch. 126). In addition to SiriusXM's original channels, cable news fans won't have to miss a second of coverage via SiriusXM's suite of news channel simulcasts, including CNN (ch. 116), Fox News Channel (ch. 114), and MSNBC (ch. 118). In addition, NPR Now (ch. 122) will also air special live coverage from 8:00 pm - 1:00 am ET.

SiriusXM’s original political channels – Patriot, P.O.T.U.S. and Progress – will all provide listeners with team coverage that extends from its regular daytime schedule into new live primetime and overnight programming. Hosts will keep listeners up-to-date and engaged with all of the night’s top news, and will break down key election results and what that they mean for the future of the political landscape. They’ll also keep the phone lines open so that listeners can call in and share their opinions in real time.

On SiriusXM Triumph, starting at 9:00 pm ET Megyn Kelly will host a special live, commercial-free edition of her program, The Megyn Kelly Show. Kelly will share her perspective and analysis of election results as they come in, and will speak with leading experts and political observers.

SiriusXM’s Urban View channel, which focuses on issues affecting the African-American community, will also be live with special programming from 8:00 pm – 12:00 am ET.

In addition, CNN Originals will air a special series "Race for the White House" marathon on Tuesday, November 8 from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm ET, which will capture the high-stakes drama, dirty politics and Machiavellian schemes employed during history's most dramatic presidential elections. Using archival footage, interviews and stylized dramatizations, each hour-long episode tells the story of one presidential campaign. Listeners can tune in to the channel all day to hear the races covered including Abraham Lincoln/Stephen Douglas, John F. Kennedy/Richard Nixon, and George H.W. Bush/Michael Dukakis.

Nearly 500 candidates running for political office have appeared across SiriusXM’s political channels in 2022, including: Stacey Abrams, Sen. Raphael Warnock, Herschel Walker, Gov. Kathy Hochul, Rep. Lee Zeldin, JD Vance, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Charlie Crist, and many more.
