Special edition of the Cardinal's weekly Catholic Channel show will examine the oppression and violence occurring around the world
NEW YORK, March 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York, will host a special "Religious Summit" Tuesday, March 31, on The Catholic Channel on SiriusXM that will examine the rise of religious intolerance around the world.
Cardinal Dolan, who hosts a weekly show on The Catholic Channel, will be joined in the SiriusXM studios by Rabbi Elliot Cosgrove of the Park Avenue Synagogue, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the founder of the Cordoba Initiative, and Rev. A.R. Bernard, Sr., the founder and CEO of the Christian Cultural Center.
The atrocities being committed by radical groups such as ISIS and Boko Haram have brought the discussion on religious persecution and intolerance to the forefront of the news cycle. These religious leaders will share their perspectives on the subject – in the context of events both current and past – and discuss what can be done to counteract a growing crisis.
The one-hour special will air live at 2:00 pm ET on The Catholic Channel, which is available to listeners nationwide on satellite radios (channel 129) on the SiriusXM app and at SiriusXM.com.
"We are grateful to Cardinal Dolan and his guests for engaging in this important and timely discussion," said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM's President and Chief Content Officer. "This is a topic that is resonating with people around the globe. To hear from these influential religious leaders will be compelling and hopefully spark meaningful conversation among people from all walks of life."
Cardinal Dolan has been Archbishop of New York since 2009.
