NEW YORK, Oct. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced today that Mike Krzyzewski, head coach of the Duke University and USA Men's Basketball teams, returns for a ninth season of his weekly SiriusXM show, Basketball and Beyond with Coach K.

A new episode debuts Thursday, October 31 (6:00 pm ET), on SiriusXM College Sports Nation, channel 91.  On this week's show, Coach K welcomes as his guest another National Championship-winning coach, Rick Pitino, whose Louisville Cardinals won the 2013 NCAA title game in April, for a discussion on the upcoming college basketball season.

Throughout the season, a new edition of Basketball and Beyond will air every Thursday on SiriusXM College Sports Nation.  Each show will also be available on SiriusXM On Demand for subscribers listening via the SiriusXM Internet Radio App or online at SiriusXM.com. 

Basketball and Beyond features Coach K discussing a wide array of subjects – from college basketball and other sports to current headline news and events.  Krzyzewski and his co-host, Dave Sims, interview a variety of special guests, including business leaders, coaches and athletes.  Guests who have joined Coach K on past programs include U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, NBA Commissioner David Stern, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, fellow coaching legends Bob Knight, John Madden, Joe Torre, and Pat Summitt, and many more.

Coach K has been involved with USA Basketball as a coach since 1979 and has helped lead the U.S. to nine gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals.  Since 2006, when USA Basketball managing director Jerry Colangelo selected Krzyzewski as the Senior Men's National Team head coach, the USA is 62-1 in major international competitions.  With the gold medal victory in the 2012 London Olympics, Krzyzewski became just the second coach in USA Men's history to earn consecutive Olympic golds. 

Krzyzewski was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2001.
