NEW YORK, Jan. 24, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- SiriusXM today announced that Georgetown University head basketball coach Patrick Ewing, who as a player led the Hoyas to the 1984 national championship before going on to a Hall of Fame NBA career, will host an exclusive new show on SiriusXM.

Center Court with Patrick Ewing, which Ewing will co-host with broadcaster and former NFL player Rick "Doc" Walker, will premiere this Sunday, January 27, at 11:00 am ET on ESPNU Radio on SiriusXM (channel 84), leading into the noon ET broadcast of Georgetown's game against St. John's.

Following Sunday's premiere, Center Court with Patrick Ewing will air every Tuesday night, starting February 5, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm ET on ESPNU Radio on SiriusXM.  Episodes of the show will also be available on demand on the SiriusXM app and at SiriusXM.com.

Each week, Ewing and Walker will discuss the latest in sports as well as the landscape of college basketball. A wide variety of topics will be discussed while bringing on a number of high-profile guests.

"I'm excited about working with Doc and having my show on SiriusXM," Ewing said. "We plan on having a unique and informative, but most of all fun show, and being broadcast on SiriusXM will allow us to reach a national audience."

"Following his Hall of Fame playing career, Patrick has built an impressive coaching resume over the last decade and a half, and he has fans very excited about what's ahead for Georgetown basketball," said Steve Cohen, SiriusXM's SVP of Sports Programming.  "We're thrilled to welcome him to SiriusXM, where he'll give our listeners an exclusive and inside look at the Hoyas on Center Court, and will have the freedom to share his important perspective from a long and storied career in college and professional basketball."

In 2017, Ewing was named head men's basketball coach at his alma mater, Georgetown University, where he had one of the greatest college basketball careers in the history of the game.  He was one of the first college players to star for his team as a true freshman.  Among his many accomplishments, he led Georgetown to the final game of the NCAA Tournament three out of four years, winning it all in 1984, and his Hoyas won three Big East Tournament titles. Ewing was named a first-team All-American three times, and was the National College Player of the Year in 1985.

Ewing became the first overall pick in the 1985 NBA draft, selected by the New York Knicks.  For 15 seasons he was the cornerstone of the franchise and led the Knicks to two NBA Finals.  He was an 11-time NBA All-Star and was named to six All-NBA teams.  He won two Olympic gold medals, as a college player in 1984, and as a member of the original "Dream Team" in 1992.  His retired #33 now hangs in the rafters of Madison Square Garden, and he is a member of both the Basketball Hall of Fame and the College Basketball Hall of Fame.

In addition to Center Court with Patrick Ewing, all remaining Georgetown men's basketball games will air on SiriusXM. Specific channels for each game will be announced on a weekly basis.
